Anyone else fishing solo as your main decompression?
I get to the lake Saturday mornings before everyone wakes up. Don't even care if I catch anything. It's just me, the water, and my thoughts. No one asking me for anything, no emails, no noise. Four hours and I come back ready to be present for my family the rest of the weekend. My wife finally gets it now and doesn't complain about me going. Do you guys have that one thing?
Solo fishing sounds amazing. Do you do catch and release or do you bring home dinner sometimes? Either way, those quiet mornings are probably saving your sanity. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for needing that.
This is healthy decompression. I need to find my version of this because work and kids just back up on each other with no release valve. How long have you been doing the lake thing?
