Anyone else get into fishing later in life?

I never fished growing up but my dad took me out last month and something just clicked. Now I'm looking at rods and reels online way too much. There's so much to learn - different techniques, types of fish, gear setups. My buddies think I'm losing it but I'm seriously thinking about making this a regular thing. Any tips for a total beginner?

Love to see it. I've been wanting to get back into fishing but between two kids and work I barely have time to think. Jealous you found something that just clicked like that.

That's awesome man, fishing is addictive once it hooks you. I got into it a few years back and now I'm that guy researching gear at midnight instead of sleeping. Your dad did you a solid getting you started.
