Anyone else obsessed with building with their kids?

My 6 year old watched me work in the garage on a shelf project and now he wants to build everything. We spent 4 hours yesterday building a treehouse frame out of scraps. His enthusiasm about using actual tools makes the mess worth it. Might actually get him his own toolbelt for his birthday.

This is the best. My 5 year old started asking to help with projects and now I can barely get him out of the garage. You're creating a future builder right there.

Dude yes. My garage has basically become a workshop for my kids now. We're building birdhouses this month. Whatever it costs in materials it's worth it for the time together.

Just wait until he wants to build everything in the house. My oldest is obsessed with my tools now and I've had to set some serious boundaries before he 'builds' something I actually need.
