Took my 10 year old out on the water before work this morning. We didn't catch much but he got really excited when he hooked into one. Brought it in, looked at it, let it go. He was so pumped about it for the whole ride back. Honestly that's what it's about. Not the fish. Just being out there with him, showing him how to cast, how to read the water. These mornings are gold.

Even if the fish weren't biting, those are the trips that stick with him forever. I took mine out a few times and he still talks about it years later.
