Best fishing trip of the year

Took my oldest out to the lake at 5am yesterday. He was grumpy about waking up but we caught 12 largemouths before noon. Nothing huge but the look on his face when he landed his first one himself was worth every early morning I've sacrificed. We packed sandwiches and just sat there talking about school, girls, life stuff. Those moments are rare now that he's getting older.
