Just got some time to myself and want to get back into gaming a bit. Need a good headset that won't destroy my ears and won't make me look like I'm about to go into battle when I'm just sitting in my office. Budget is around $150. Thanks guys.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 is right under that budget and sounds great without looking like you're about to stream to thousands of people. I grabbed one last year and it's been solid for the hour or two I actually get to game.
I've been running the SteelSeries Arctis Nova for about 6 months and it's solid. Good sound, comfortable after long sessions, and it's right around $140. Plus the battery lasts forever.
Getting time to yourself for gaming is precious. I'd say go with HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 if you want to save a few bucks, or splurge on the SteelSeries if you can swing it.

The HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 is tough to beat at that price point. Comfortable for longer sessions and doesn't scream 'gamer' which honestly matters when you're a dad trying to just enjoy some peace and quiet.
