Wife finally said yes to the kayak purchase. Been saving for two years. Looking at either the Lifetime Tamarack or a used Old Town. The Lifetime is cheaper but I keep seeing people say the Old Town tracks better. I'd be fishing lakes mostly, nothing crazy. Worth spending the extra grand for used or just go new and budget? What do you guys have out there?
Two years of saving is dedication, man. Can't go wrong with either one, but I built my whole patio myself so I lean toward the used Old Town if it's in good shape and saves you cash.
Nice that your wife came around on it. Between coaching and keeping three fed, I don't get out on water as much as I'd like, but that Tamarack's reputation is solid if you want reliability.
That's awesome dude. My 6yo and I are building up to stuff like that. The Lifetime tends to be pretty forgiving for beginners if you end up taking your kids out sometime.
