Finally Finished My Fishing Rod Restoration
Spent the last month restoring my grandfather's old Fenwick rod that's been sitting in the garage. Replaced the guides, rewound the wraps with new thread, fresh reel seat. Thing looks brand new but still has that vintage feel. Took it out on the water last weekend and caught a 4 pound largemouth on the first cast. Felt pretty special knowing I was using something that meant something to him. Thinking about doing my dad's old rods next.
This is the kind of hobby dad stuff I need to be doing more of instead of just staring at my phone during nap time. Your grandfather would be proud you brought that rod back to life.
How long did the full restoration take you? I've got some old tools of my dad's I've been thinking about doing something with.
