Been working on my rod and reel combo for like 3 months now. Took it out last weekend and man, the difference is noticeable. My buddy kept asking why I was so particular about the drag settings and I was like bro, you wouldn't understand. Anyway caught a nice largemouth and my kids were actually impressed for once. Feeling pretty good about it.
Nice work getting it sorted. I'm still learning all this stuff with my boy, but I keep hearing people say that the gear matters less than just getting out there. Glad you stuck with it.

Three months is dedication. I respect that. How much of a difference did dialing it in make compared to when you first started? Sometimes I think half the fun is the tinkering though.
