Fishing is How I Dad
I take my boys fishing as much as I can. Sometimes we catch stuff, sometimes we don't, but that's not really the point. It's being out on the water early in the morning before the world gets loud. My oldest is starting to actually help instead of just complaining about being bored.
I'm teaching them to respect the water, to be patient, to understand that good things take time. Plus it's cheap entertainment and I don't have to be "on" the way I do at home. Just three guys and some fishing poles and a cooler. Life feels right out there.
This is beautiful man. I try to do outdoor stuff with my kids too and the catching fish part doesn't really matter. It's the being together that counts. Do your boys actually enjoy it or are they getting to that age where they'd rather be on their phones?
