Had the whole Saturday planned to take the kids fishing at the lake. Woke up to thunderstorms so we had to bail. Ended up building a blanket fort in the living room instead and honestly they had a blast. Gonna reschedule for next month. Anyone else have a go to backup plan when outdoor stuff gets cancelled?
Man, I feel this. Had the same thing happen last month in Phoenix. We pivoted to an indoor trampoline park instead and honestly the kids had just as much fun. Sometimes the backup plan turns out better than the original.
Those rainy day pivots end up being the memories they talk about anyway. Sounds like you made the best of it!
Blanket fort is honestly a better Saturday than fishing in my book. My boys would take an indoor fort adventure over most outdoor plans anyway.
This is why I always have a Plan B ready. With four kids I learned real quick that flexibility is survival.

Rained out plans are the worst, but hey at least you get to reschedule. Use that time to do something inside with them instead. Board games, movie marathon, cooking project together.
