Fishing trip this weekend - any tips for bringing the kids?

Taking my sons out to the lake on Saturday. They're 6 and 9, so this is their first real fishing trip. Got the sunscreen, snacks, and life jackets ready. Just worried they'll get bored sitting still. Should I bring a tablet or force them to just be present? Want to make this a real memory.

Sounds like you're ready. Just remember patience is key when you've got little ones trying to cast. Those memories matter way more than how many fish you catch.

That's awesome you're getting them out there early. Bring way more snacks than you think you need and keep the fishing sessions short so they don't get bored. The lake with your kids beats any peaceful solo trip honestly.

Nice setup with the safety gear. My tip is to have a backup activity ready in case the fish aren't biting, like a little game or something. Make it about hanging with them more than actually catching fish.
