Gaming setup for the man cave - worth it?

Got some bonus money at work and was thinking about upgrading my gaming PC and getting a better monitor. It's been like 5 years since I upgraded anything and I'm running pretty outdated stuff. My wife thinks I'm crazy for spending money on this but it's literally my only hobby where I can chill for an hour after the kids are in bed. Am I being selfish or is this a reasonable purchase? Looking at probably $1500-2000 total.

If you've got the bonus money and you actually use the space, go for it. Just make sure it's something you'll actually spend time in and not just a cool thing that sits there.

Depends on how much you're actually going to use it. I upgraded my setup last year and honestly I use it way more than I thought I would. Just don't go overboard on the first build.

Man cave gaming setup is absolutely worth it if you game regularly. Better monitor makes a huge difference though, more than the PC sometimes.
