Gaming setup recommendations

Getting back into gaming now that I actually have some free time again. Used to play a lot before kids came along. Looking to set up a decent rig that doesn't look insane in my living room. Not trying to go full streaming setup or anything, just want a nice monitor, comfortable chair, and something that plays current games well. Anyone on here game? What's your setup like and how much did you end up spending?

Just remember to actually put the controller down when the kids need you. I've had to learn that lesson the hard way more than once. That said, having a solid setup that you actually want to use is key.
A good gaming setup is worth it if you're actually going to use it consistently. Make sure you've got a comfortable chair and decent monitor. Your neck and back will thank you.
