Gaming with my boys now
Used to play competitive shooters solo. Now my 9 year old and I play co-op games together a few times a week. He's actually getting pretty good at strategy games. It's not the same as my old gaming, less intense, but honestly it's way better. This is gonna sound cheesy but watching him get excited when we beat a boss together, that's the good stuff. My 5 year old just likes pressing random buttons but that's fine too.
Gaming together hits different than solo gaming. My kids are getting into it too and it's become our thing on Friday nights. The patience you need as a parent actually makes you better at teamwork games honestly.
Do you find it hard to dial back the competitiveness when you're playing with him? I struggle with that sometimes when I'm coaching the kids in sports.
