Gaming with my teenage son is saving our relationship

Real honest moment here. My son and I weren't connecting much anymore. He's 15 and just withdrawn into his room. My brother suggested we try gaming together so I picked up a Switch and we've been playing Mario Kart and other stuff together for the past couple months. Now he actually wants to hang out with me. We trash talk, we laugh, he's teaching me how to be better at games. It's not how I imagined bonding with him but it's real and it matters. If your teenage kids are distant, don't write it off. Sometimes meeting them in their world is what cracks the ice.
