Got a new smoker, having my first cook tomorrow

Been saving up for like six months and finally pulled the trigger on a decent offset smoker. Picked up a brisket and some ribs for tomorrow. Watched probably too many YouTube videos but I think I'm ready. Probably won't sleep tonight because I'm too excited. Anyone have tips for a first time smoking?

That's awesome man, congrats on finally getting that smoker! Six months of saving is dedication. The brisket and ribs combo is perfect for learning the ropes, you're gonna do great tomorrow.

Nice, offset smokers are the real deal. Fair warning though, between the kids' schedules and work I barely have time to keep mine running, but when I do get out there it's my happy place. Enjoy every minute of it.

Dude that's awesome, been thinking about doing the same thing. The fact you actually followed through after six months of saving tells me you're serious about this. Hope the cook goes smooth tomorrow.
