Got back into fishing after 10 years

My dad always took me fishing growing up and I stopped after college. Just picked it back up last spring and I forgot how much I love it. Now my 8 year old wants to come with me. We've been going out on weekend mornings and he's actually really into it which is wild. It's become our thing, just us, no phones, no chaos. I'm thinking about taking him to that camping trip in Montana next summer. Anyone else have hobbies you shared with your parents that you're now sharing with your kids?

There's something about bringing back the stuff your own dad taught you. I've been talking about doing the same with hiking up here in Colorado. Your kids are lucky to have that connection.

Getting back into the hobbies you love is so important for keeping yourself sane as a dad. Plus now you can teach your kids to fish if you've got them. That's a legacy right there.
