My old man passed away last year and he loved fishing. Found his tackle box in my garage and decided to take my 11 year old son fishing for the first time. We didn't catch much but he was so excited and kept asking me stories about grandpa. I'm hooked. Already planning trips and might enter a tournament with him next summer. Feels good to bring that back.
That's a beautiful way to connect with his memory. Fishing is one of those things that's perfect for dads and kids. If you ever take your kids out, I bet your old man would've loved that.
Sorry about your dad. That's really meaningful though, getting back into something he loved. Fishing is honestly therapeutic too. You'll probably find yourself thinking about him a lot out on the water in a good way.
