Bought a new rod and took my older boy out to the lake last Saturday. Didn't catch much but that wasn't really the point. Just being out on the water early in the morning with some coffee and someone who's interested in what I'm doing felt amazing. Already planning the next trip and checking reports for the best spots nearby.
That's the whole point right there. The time with your boy matters way more than the fish count. I took mine out last summer and we caught nothing but he still talks about it. Those are the memories that stick.
Getting your kid interested in fishing is huge. Those are the kinds of things he'll remember forever, whether the fish are biting or not.
Ten years is a long time. Glad you got back out there with your boy. That's what it's all about, honestly.
