Got back into fishing after 10 years

Took my oldest out to the lake last weekend for the first time since I was in college. Grabbed a couple budget rods from walmart and some basic tackle. We didn't catch anything but just being out on the water early in the morning while it was quiet was amazing. My son asked a million questions about everything and I realized I forgot how much I missed this. Already planning our next trip and looking at better equipment. Feels good to get back into something I love.

Man, getting back into fishing with your kid is gold. I work so much I miss out on stuff like this, so props for making it happen and keeping it simple with the walmart gear.

Love this. Ten years away and then back at it with your oldest - that's a full circle moment right there. My voice is usually gone from yelling on sidelines but fishing days hit different.

That's what I'm talking about. Budget rods, basic tackle, just you and your oldest - that's the real memory right there. Those lake days are what they'll remember.
