Got back into fishing after 15 years

Took my 8yo out to the lake last weekend and man I forgot how peaceful it is. We didn't catch anything but he was entertained for like 4 hours which is honestly the win. Picked up a decent setup off Facebook Marketplace and plan to go again next month. Anyone got tips for keeping kids interested when the fish aren't biting?

This is what I'm talking about. Finding those peaceful moments with your kids is everything, especially when you're juggling work and trying to be present during the day. Keep that fishing thing going.

Love this man. Getting back into something you love while sharing it with your 8yo is perfect. The fact that he was entertained for 4 hours means you nailed it, fish or no fish.

Man, that's the good stuff right there. Four hours is solid, and honestly the catching nothing part doesn't matter when your kid is just vibing with you on the water. That's memories right there.
