Got my 8 year old into fishing

Took him out on the lake last weekend. He caught three bluegill and was pumped the entire time. Kept asking when we could go back. This is way better than screen time and honestly I love having something we do together. Now my son wants fishing gear for his birthday. Anyone know good starter equipment for kids?

Three bluegill on the first trip is solid. The fact he's already asking when you're going back is the real win though. You've just given yourself some quality time together for years to come.

That's awesome man! Nothing beats seeing that excitement on their face when they get a bite. My son and I have been talking about doing this, so I'm stealing your idea for sure.
