Got my kids interested in fishing and it's amazing

Took my boys (9 and 6) out on the lake last Saturday for the first time. Wasn't sure how long they'd stay interested but we were out there like 5 hours. My oldest caught 3 bluegill and was so proud. My younger one just loved being on the water and eating snacks. We barely caught anything but it didn't matter. Already planning the next trip. This is the kind of stuff I want them to remember about me.

That's awesome! We took our kids fishing for the first time last year and now it's their favorite thing. The 9 year old especially loved it. How long did you end up staying out there?

My kids are still too young for fishing but we're getting there. How did you keep them from getting bored? That's my main worry.

This is great man. Getting them away from screens and out on the water is huge. Did they actually catch anything or was it more about the experience?
