Got tired of propane prices and thinking about switching back to charcoal. I know gas is faster and easier but something about charcoal just hits different. Anyone else make this switch? What am I not thinking about? Also open to a good hybrid setup if you guys have recommendations that won't break the bank.
Propane prices are ridiculous right now. I switched to charcoal two years ago and haven't looked back. Plus there's something satisfying about managing the temperature and getting it just right.
I've been thinking about this exact switch. Gas is fast but charcoal has character, and honestly with work and two kids I need something that makes the grilling feel less rushed.
Charcoal is worth it if you've got the time to enjoy it. Gas is convenient when you're juggling three kids and tournaments every weekend like me, but charcoal tastes better.
If you've got the space and the patience go charcoal. The kids can even help with the setup which makes it a thing instead of just firing up the grill. Better bonding time too.

Charcoal is the way if you have the time for it. Yeah it takes longer but the flavor difference is real and honestly I enjoy the process more. Gas is convenient but charcoal is better.
