Grilling question - charcoal vs gas

So I've got a gas grill but I'm thinking about getting a charcoal one too. I know charcoal takes longer and is messier but the flavor seems way better from what people say. Budget isn't really an issue I just want to know if it's worth having both or if I'm overthinking this. What do you guys prefer?

Do it man, get the charcoal. Yeah it takes longer but those smoky flavors you can't replicate with gas. I keep both in my Phoenix backyard because the kids always want different stuff grilled anyway.

The flavor difference is real. I thought I was crazy until I did a side by side taste test with my wife. Gas is convenient but charcoal hits different, especially if you're into BBQ.
