Finally got the basement mostly finished and claimed one corner as my space. Got a decent TV, mini fridge, and an old couch from my parents. Now I need ideas for decorating without my wife thinking I'm being ridiculous. Thinking maybe some neon signs? Sports posters? What's the balance between cool and not looking like a college dorm?
That's awesome you got that space claimed. I'd throw up a map on the wall or something from places you've been - gives you something cool to look at while relaxing. Nice work getting it done.

String lights are underrated for man caves. They're cheap, they make the space feel way less like a basement dungeon, and they look solid. Throw in some shelving for your interests and boom you've got a real spot.
What kind of mini fridge are we talking? If you got a good setup down there you might want to add some comfortable seating beyond just the couch. A nice chair makes all the difference for unwinding.

Nice man, congrats on the space. For decoration I'd say go with whatever makes you happy. Doesn't have to match the house vibe. I have vintage racing posters all over mine because my son loves F1 and it made sense.
