Lost my best fishing spot to construction

This is dumb but I'm genuinely sad about it. That little cove down at the state park where I've caught fish for the last 8 years just got cordoned off for some trail expansion project. I know there are other spots but I knew every rock and current in that spot. I had a system. It was my peaceful place before work got crazy or the kids were being kids. Gonna have to explore new territory I guess. Anyone else lose a favorite spot?

Did you ever take any of your kids there? Might be worth documenting some photos or something to remember it by.

Have you checked out the other side of the state park? There's usually backup spots that don't get as crowded. Not the same obviously but might help scratch that itch.

That's rough. I had a favorite fishing hole get turned into condos a few years back and I was actually depressed about it for like a month. Your feelings are totally valid.

Time to scout some new spots. Silver lining is you get to explore and maybe find somewhere even better. Probably won't feel the same right away but at least you've got something to do this season.

This isn't dumb at all. That spot was probably part of your routine, maybe part of your identity as a fisher. Of course you're sad about losing it.
