Man cave finally feels like mine again after the kids are asleep

Got a mini fridge, a good sound system, hung up some posters that aren't kid-appropriate. Friday nights I pour a bourbon, put on a game or a movie, and just exist for a couple hours. Wife gets her peace and quiet upstairs, I get my space. It's not much but it's keeping me sane. Man cave isn't about being selfish, it's about preserving your sanity as a parent.

Friday nights in the man cave after the kids crash is sacred time. I get it. You earned it during the week dealing with homework and bedtime negotiations.
That setup sounds nice. Having a space that's just for you helps keep the sanity intact. The posters thing made me laugh though - I hung up some old concert posters and my 7 year old asked why they were 'so old and torn up'.
