Just unboxed my new Traeger pellet grill and its beautiful. Its been sitting in my driveway for 2 hours while I figure out the best spot. I know its just a grill but man this thing is a beast. First cook is gonna be ribs this weekend. Anyone have tips for breaking in a new smoker?
How long did it take you to unbox and set up? I'm thinking about getting one but want to know if it's a whole afternoon project or a quick deal.
Oh man I need to upgrade mine. How much did you end up dropping on it? I keep telling myself I'm going to bite the bullet and go pellet but I'm scared of the cost.
I get this. I stare at my grill like that too. There's something about having new gear that just hits different. How long before you actually fire it up for real or are you still in the admiration phase?

That's the best feeling right before the first cook. Traeger is solid man. Once you dial in your temperature game you'll be using that thing constantly. Just wait until you do your first brisket.
That Traeger smell is going to be absolutely intoxicating. Fair warning though, once you fire that thing up, you're going to be outside every single evening. My kids basically know not to expect me indoors from May through October now.
Go ahead and do the assembly tonight before the weekend so you have time to break it in. Nothing worse than wanting to grill when you still have to put the thing together.

Pellet grills are game changers man. Fair warning though, you're about to spend way more time outside than you thought you would. My wife jokes that I use any excuse to throw something on the Traeger now.
That new grill smell is real. I remember just walking out to mine like five times a day for the first week just to look at it. You picked a good one, Traeger's are solid.
