New smoker arrived today and I'm losing my mind

Pellet smoker showed up this afternoon. Spent 2 hours just reading the manual and setting it up. Kids think I'm crazy standing out here checking the temp every 5 minutes. Planning to do a brisket this weekend. Any tips for a first timer? Should I wrap it or go naked the whole time?

They'll think you're crazy now but they'll come around when that food starts coming off. Nothing bonds a family like good barbecue.

A pellet smoker is basically the ultimate dad toy. Two hours with the manual is just getting started, wait til you're dialing in your first brisket.
