Picked up gaming again after 10 years
Bought a PS5 last month and honestly I forgot how much I loved gaming. Used to be huge into it before kids. Now I play for like an hour after everyone's asleep and it's become my wind down time. My teenage son is actually kind of impressed and we've been talking about getting some multiplayer games to play together which is cool. Feel a bit guilty sometimes that I'd rather be gaming than watching TV with the wife but I think having my own thing that makes me happy is important too. Anyone else gaming as a dad?
Picking up hobbies again is actually healthy, man. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about it. You need something that's just for you to stay sane. Plus your kids will respect you more if you're doing things you're passionate about instead of just grinding work and dad duties 24/7.
How are you managing the screen time guilt? I feel like gaming gets judged harder than other hobbies sometimes, but it's really no different than any other way to decompress after a long week.
