Restored my first vintage watch and it actually works
Been collecting old watches for a couple years but never attempted to actually fix one. Grabbed a beat up 70s Seiko from an estate sale, watched like fifty YouTube videos, ordered some tiny tools, and went for it. Took forever but it actually keeps time now. Wore it all week and got more compliments than wearing my regular watch. Might be hooked on this hobby now.
This is so cool. I've been thinking about getting into watch repair but always thought it would be too technical. Seeing someone actually do it from an estate sale watch is encouraging.
Wait you got it working though? Not just opened it up and put it back? That's legit impressive for a first restoration. Most people wreck something when they first try.
