Took my boy fishing for the first time

My 6yo and I went to the lake at 6am last Saturday and caught 4 bluegill. Hes all about it now wants to go every weekend. His little face when he reeled one in I swear I got something in my eye. Obviously going to be a fishing dad from here on out. Already looking at rod and reel options for him. My dad took me fishing as a kid and I havent thought about those memories in years but now theyre all flooding back. Pretty cool to pass that on.

Six bluegill is a solid haul for a first timer! That's awesome. Get him a little tackle box of his own and he'll be asking to go every weekend.

Nothing beats that first fishing trip. My boys still talk about the time we caught catfish when they were young. He's going to remember that 6am wake up and those bluegill for the rest of his life.

This is the stuff that matters. Years from now he won't remember what you bought him for Christmas but he'll remember being out on the water with his dad at sunrise. These moments are gold.
