Haven't been fishing in like 8 years but my oldest is really into it now. We went to this local pond early Saturday morning and caught a bunch of bluegill. My son was so stoked, kept saying he wants to go every weekend. Already planning the next trip and looking at tackle shops. Honestly forgot how peaceful it is just being out on the water with no phone signal and no one yelling at you about stuff that needs to be done around the house.

This is so cool. My kids are still too young for fishing but I've been thinking about taking them out once they're a bit older. How old is your oldest? Any tips for a complete beginner?

That's awesome man. My oldest got me into fishing a couple years ago and now we go every other month. There's something special about passing that on to the next generation. Eight years is a long time to be away from it though, bet it felt good to get back out there.

Love this. I took my boys to the lake last month and they spent half the time just throwing rocks in the water but honestly that was fine. It was just nice being outside together without screens.
