Took the kids fishing for the first time

Went to the lake yesterday morning with my 6 year old and 8 year old. They were so excited but honestly the 6 year old lost interest after 30 minutes and wanted to just skip rocks instead. The 8 year old actually caught a small bass though and you would've thought he landed a marlin. He talked about it the whole ride home. Planning to make it a regular thing. Anyone else have young kids interested in fishing?

First fishing trips are the best. Did they actually catch anything or was it more about being out there together? My kids were the same age when we went and they remember it like it was yesterday.

That's awesome man. Those are the moments they'll talk about forever. Was it hard to keep them patient when the fish weren't biting right away?

Nice work getting them out there. The 6 and 8 age is perfect for starting to really enjoy outdoor stuff. You planning to make it a regular thing?
