Upgrading the grill setup this summer

Looking to move up from my basic charcoal grill to a nice pellet smoker. The problem is I've got maybe 3x3 feet of deck space and a wife who's already skeptical about how much time I spend grilling. Thinking a compact Traeger or similar? Anyone have recommendations that won't take over my whole backyard? Also trying to justify the $600+ price tag without hearing about it for the next 5 years.

Space is tight but totally doable. I've got my setup pretty locked down on my deck in Boulder and learned quick that you don't need much room if you plan it right. Your wife will come around once she smells what you're cooking.

Pellet smokers are worth every penny if you can make the space work. Might be worth having a real conversation with your wife about the investment and how much yard time you'll actually get this summer.
