My 4yo will watch it on repeat and honestly I don't even mind it. There's actual good humor in there for adults and the parenting feels real, not preachy. Plus Bluey's dad is kind of a legend. Just venting that we've probably watched the backyard games episode 47 times but at least it's wholesome content, ngl.
Bluey is legit the only kids show where I'm not dying inside watching it for the 47th time. The way Bandit handles the "I'm not actually free to do whatever I want" conversation hits different when you're a parent.
lol same here with my 5yo. Could be worse right? At least he's not watching something with a 22-minute ad disguised as a show. Bluey actually teaches stuff.
YES. And Bluey's dad actually admits when he's wrong?? Revolutionary. My 4yo watches it constantly and I've genuinely picked up parenting tips from a cartoon dog. Not mad about it.
The "Squirrel" episode where Bandit can't help his kids because he's on a work call? That's some real stuff right there. Kids show that doesn't talk down to either audience.
Bluey is genuinely good and I say this as someone who's watched way too much of it. The dad character is like... actually present and engaged? Revolutionary for kids TV apparently.
Bingo games with Bluey hit different because the parents are just playing to have fun, not trying to teach a lesson. That episode where they're all running around being chaotic? That's just good parenting modeling imo.
My kid watched the same 3 episodes for like 2 months straight and I was ready to lose it. Then she suddenly moved on to something else. Didn't need me to do anything, just... grew out of it when she was ready.
The fact that you don't mind the repeat watching is the biggest win here tbh. Some parents would fight it but you recognizing it's not hurting anything = good call.
YES the humor is the thing. My wife and I laughed harder at some of those episodes than at actual adult comedy. The sticky tape episode? Genius.
lol our house too. My kid quotes it constantly. "That's so interesting" about everything. Could be worse though - my neighbor's kid is stuck on Cocomelon and that show actively makes me want to scream.

The games they play in the show are actually good though - I've stolen the "keepy uppy" concept and my kids actually get tired instead of just zoned out on screens.
