She's 13 and usually just grunts at me. But today she actually sat down and told me about some stuff going on with her friends at school. We talked for like 45 minutes. I didn't try to fix it, just listened mostly. She said thanks dad before she left. That's a win in my book.

Those are the wins that stick with you. My kids love talking to me over a meal outside where they feel relaxed, so if you get more of those heart to hearts with her keep leaning into what works.
