Daughter asked me to dance with her at her school thing and I actually said yes

So I'm not a dancer. I'm awkward and self conscious about it normally. My 9 year old asked me weeks ago to be her partner for the father daughter dance at school and I was dreading it honestly. But tonight we got out there and she was so happy just having me there trying my best. We did the dumbest moves together and she kept laughing. Afterwards she told me it was the best night ever. Worth looking like an idiot for two minutes to give her a memory like that. Dads if you haven't done this yet DO IT.

This is everything. My 7 year old asked me to help with a school project and I almost cried. These moments are what it's all about. The fact that she's been asking you for weeks just shows how much it matters to her.

Dude this is everything right here. Your kid asked you weeks in advance and you said yes. That's the whole ballgame. She's not gonna remember if you danced perfectly, she's gonna remember that her dad showed up.

My 9 year old is at that age where she's still into having me around at stuff like this. In a few years that changes so you did the right thing showing up and dancing no matter how awkward.

I'm not a dancer either and I still cringe thinking about it, but honestly who cares. These moments matter way more to them than we realize. The awkwardness is part of the charm.
