Daughter made the select soccer team and I'm losing it

She's 9. She tried out kind of last minute, wasn't even sure if she wanted to do it. Got the email this morning that she made the U10 competitive team. She's been practicing in the backyard literally every day this summer with zero pressure from us. This is 100% her thing and seeing her face when I told her... man. Being a dad is weird sometimes.

The best part is she went in unsure and still made it. That's the kind of confidence boost kids actually need. This is going to stick with her for way longer than just the soccer achievement.

Select soccer is a big commitment though. Make sure you're both ready for the practice schedule and travel that usually comes with it. But yeah this is awesome news.

I love this energy. Your daughter tried something hard without knowing if she'd succeed and then succeeded. That's the whole lesson right there. Proud of her and proud of you for celebrating it.
