Daughter said I was her hero today

She was scared of the dentist and I just sat there and held her hand the whole time. Didn't do anything special really, just was there. When we left she hugged me and said 'you're my hero dad for being brave with me.' Man, I'm tearing up typing this. These moments hit different.

That's the stuff right there. You didn't need to do anything crazy, just be present. Those quiet moments where she knows you've got her back are what she'll remember forever.

Being a hero doesn't require superpowers, just showing up and being calm when they're scared. You nailed it. She'll remember that for the rest of her life.
