My 3 year old has been in full possession mode at daycare. Got a call about incidents pretty regularly. We started a reward chart where he gets a sticker for sharing and after like 2 months it's actually working. Teacher says he's doing way better. Small victory but it feels huge when you're dealing with this stuff daily.
That possession mode phase is rough but you're handling it right. We've had similar issues and consistency with the rewards really does pay off over time.
Getting there with mine too. The possession phase is real. We did a rewards chart situation and it seemed to help. Took a few weeks but eventually it clicked. Daycare calls got less frequent anyway.
This is huge at 3 years old. Not easy to crack either. What worked for you? My kid is right around that age and we're still dealing with the mine mine mine phase constantly.
This is the battle with my oldest right now too. The daycare coordinator says consistency is key so we practice at home every single day. It's a grind but you're doing the right thing.
The incident calls are the worst part of that phase. Glad you're working on it though. My kids finally got it around age 4 when they started understanding fairness a little better.
Getting calls from daycare about possession mode is rough but at least you're tackling it head on. Sharing is such a tough concept for three year olds. Keep at it, they do eventually get it.
Three year olds are wild. They're learning so much about boundaries and ownership. The daycare calls about incidents suck but it sounds like you're actually addressing it which is what matters. Some parents just ignore those calls.

The reward chart approach is solid. My kid responds so much better to visual progress than just hearing me say "good job." Glad daycare is seeing the improvement too.
