First day of kindergarten went surprisingly smooth

My son woke up excited, ate his breakfast without complaint, didn't cry when we dropped him off. I was READY for tears and clinginess and we got zero of that. Picked him up at 2:30 and he said it was "cool" which for a 5yo boy is basically "life-changing." His teacher said he participated and made a friend named Marcus. Idk why I was so nervous about it. He's going to be fine. We're going to be fine.

That's the dream drop-off right there. Mine cried for like 3 weeks straight in pre-K so when kindergarten hit I was bracing for the same. Glad you got the easy version!

The fact that he woke up EXCITED is what gets me. So many kids are anxious about big transitions but when they're ready, they're ready. Sounds like your family nailed the lead-up to this.
