First time my son said he wanted to be like me when he grows up
I'm a mechanic and honestly most of my kids have wanted to be football players or astronauts or whatever. But today my 7 year old walked into the garage, watched me work on a carburetor for like 10 minutes, and just said 'Dad I wanna fix stuff like you do.' I put down my wrench and we just talked about cars for the next hour. Best afternoon I've had in years.
This hits different than astronaut or football player talk. There's something real about wanting to follow in your parent's footsteps. As a mechanic you're teaching him problem solving and real skills. That's legendary.
