First Time My Son Said 'I Love You Dad'

He's 4 and still learning how to express feelings but tonight he just walked up to me while I was doing dishes and said it. Clear as day. Didn't ask for anything, wasn't trying to get out of trouble, just said it. I had to turn away for a second because the onions were really strong. Ha. But seriously, that one sentence made every sleepless night and every diaper blowout worth it. I'm going to remember that moment forever.

That's the good stuff right there. Four year olds are at that sweet spot where they start understanding emotions. Treasure that moment for sure.

Man that hits different. Those moments are what it's all about. I remember the first time my daughter said it and I had to hold it together. You'll remember this forever.
