Getting a little frustrated with school homework situation
Kid is in 2nd grade, comes home with like an hour of homework every night. But then he's exhausted, doesn't want to do it, we end up in a battle. I feel like we're spending all evening just fighting about school work instead of actually doing fun family stuff. Is this normal for 2nd grade or is his school just assigning too much? Other parents—what's the homework load like at your schools?
Push back on the school. Seriously. This much homework isn't helping kids learn, it's just creating stress and killing their love of learning. Teachers need to hear from parents.
