Got Called out by My 6yo and He Was Right

Was being impatient with him about something small and he goes 'Daddy you're being grumpy like you told me not to be.' Kid called me out on my own lesson and I had to respect it. Apologized to him, explained I was having a rough day. He accepted it and we moved on. Teaching moments go both ways I guess. That kid just made me a better dad.

That's gold. My 4 year old does the same thing and I've learned to just laugh at myself. He's holding up a mirror and honestly that's the best kind of accountability a parent can get.

Dude I felt this in my soul. After a night shift I'm basically a grouch until coffee hits and my oldest called me out last week too. Humbling as hell but he's teaching me more than I'm teaching him some days.

Man, that's the real parenting win right there. Kids are like mirrors sometimes and it stings but man do they keep us honest. Props for recognizing it instead of doubling down.
