Got the kids to eat broccoli without a fight
Mixed it with some cheese sauce and they demolished it. No complaints, no negotiations, no sitting at the table for 45 minutes. Feels like I unlocked a cheat code.

This is the way. I stopped trying to force them to eat plain broccoli and just started making it taste good. They demolished it and I'm not spending 20 minutes at the dinner table arguing. Everyone wins.
Haha yes. I'm absolutely stealing this trick. My 8yo has been a broccoli warrior but if I frame it as 'special cheese broccoli' instead of just vegetables, I bet she goes for it.
Wait you got them to EAT it AND no complaints? That's not a win, that's a miracle. What was your exact cheese sauce recipe because I'm bookmarking this thread.
Mixing veggies with something tasty instead of making them suffer through plain food is how you actually win at this parenting thing. You're not tricking them, you're just making dinner not suck.
Cheese sauce is a game changer. I do the same thing with pasta and veggies. Kids will eat anything if you make it taste good and take away the battle part of it.

This is gold. Cheese sauce is basically the magic ingredient for every vegetable right? My kids suddenly approve of things they rejected a week earlier just because I changed the presentation.
