Honest question: Is it normal to feel kind of sad when your kid gets older?
My youngest just started kindergarten. Logically I'm pumped - more free time, she's excited, this is a milestone. But also like... she's not a baby anymore and I'm weirdly grieving that?
Is this just me being sentimental or do other dads feel this way too? Not looking for the "cherish every moment" speech, just wondering if I'm normal lol
My therapist called this grief and she was right. You're grieving a stage of parenting even though the next stage is great. Both things true.
